Enjoying God’s gifts!

Thanksgiving 2007 November 26, 2007

We are blessed beyond measure! Family for us is one of the ways that we are so richly blessed. We spent thanksgiving in Hemet mostly with our Meisel side of the family. We had such a fun time. It’s always great seeing our bro’s and sis’. Jared and Rachel came in from Arkansas and they are expecting a little one in February! We all can’t wait to have a little Meisel running around at family get togethers. Barry and Alyssa came in from Illinois. And then of course Pops and Moms Meisel….and that’s our Meisel side of the family. Looks like the next time that we will all be together will be next Christmas.

Sugar Rush November 6, 2007

Darren and I participated in the Sugar Rush (trunk-or-treat) at First Baptist Norco for Halloween. We decorated our car like a Bazaar and dressed up in our traditional Indian clothing. It was a good outreach event to the community. And believe me- those that came got hooked up with loads of candy!sugar rush

Visiting M. Jolene in Illinois November 6, 2007

Good times with my girls- M. Jolene and Kimberly! We had lots of quality time walking around the city, eating chicago food, visiting the Shecklers, being spontaneous and enjoying eachother. I was so encouraged to see how God has blessed Mo at Wheaton with a great job, a great Master’s program, a beautiful location and great friends.

And for any of you that aren’t quite convinced that Melissa changed her name to Jolene. Here’s proof…

I also got to see my brother and sister-in-law, Barry and Alyssa. They just recently moved to the Chicago area. We had fun walking around the city, grabbing some delicious lunch and then running to catch our train. It was soo good to see them. I can’t wait till they come out to Cali for Thanksgiving!

Darren was travelling the past couple weeks in Washington for CBU. We found a great deal on a plane ticket so I flew up for the weekend to meet him. We fit a lot into one little weekend. Darren took me to this amazing seafood restaurant, called Salty’s, that overlooked the Puget Sound and had a great view of the downtown Seattle skyline. We did a college fair in Bellingham then drove up to Canada and spent the afternoon wandering around Vancouver. Our last day together we spent in downtown Seattle. It was beautiful up there- especially the fall colors. We had some awesome quality time and made some good memories!
Praise the Lord for great time He allowed us to have together.

Inspired November 1, 2007

Melissa and Kim have been working on me to start a blog. I’ve been riding the fence for some time now. My inspiration has come three-fold:

Kim- my blogmama- was the first one to try to convince me and she helped me set it all up and taught me the ropes. Thanks K-lo!

Melissa/Jolene (aka MoJo) living in Illinois has been the main reason that I’ve seriously been thinking about starting a blog. I just love her too much and want to stay even better connected.

However, Keri Sheckler put me over the edge this weekend when MoJo, Kimberly and I went to visit. Hearing her say that it wasn’t as difficult and time consuming as she thought encouraged me. Thanks Keri- we had such a fun visit! I miss you being around.

Darren and I are excited about staying better connected with friends and family. We will post some pictures soon from our trips to Washington and Illinois.
